Rapper and Say-it-as-it-is musician, Edem has called on Award Schemes in the nation to include monetary gains as part of the prizes given out to winners of such awards.
The ‘Mighty Jesus’ rapper posited that the Ghanaian artiste does not suffer a talent deficiency but rather financial deficiency to support and and promote their art to the next level.
Edem’s comments come as a result of arguments in the Ghanaian showbiz industry regarding how Ghanaian artistes were barely left out of the just ended CAF awards held right here in the soils of Ghana with Egyptian Mohammed Salah leaving the stage with the ultimate prize.
In a tweet, Edem wrote:
TALENT AND CREATIVITY HAS NEVER BIN THE GH ARTIST PROBLEM… IT HAS ALWAYS BIN FINANCE…SO AWARD SHOWS FOR ADD MONEY.. SINCE WE DON’T EVEN GET PERFORMANCE ROYALTIES…”.
