Most Gospel Musicians Climb Stages On Alcohol – Akosua Agyapong

Ace Ghanaian music goddess, Akosua Agyapong has drawn allegations against some Gospel musicians, claiming that they drink alcohol before climbing stages to perform.

The ever-young musician made the allegation during an interview with Dr.Pounds on Hit FM’s Hitz Gallery.  According to Akosua, she has witnessed some gospel musicians drink alcohol before mounting stages to perform.

The ‘Frema’ vocalist shared a personal experience on how a bandleader required of her to take in alcohol before mounting a stage in order to overcome shyness when she eventually faces the crowd. She refused to heed the advice of the bandleader, according to her.

“Some of our gospel musicians drink alcohol before they get on stage and it is very heartbreaking,” Akosua said.

Akosua Agyapong could however not gather enough courage to point out some of the gospel musicians who are caught in this act but rather admonished actors, musicians and all those in the showbiz industry to be role models to the upcoming ones.

“Some people don’t really pay attention when the sermon is being preached; some even sleep but immediately get up when they start singing gospel songs. People actually pay heed to the words of Gospel song so I’m begging our gospel musicians to change,” she appealed.
