Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known affectionately as Shatta Wale has made claims that there is a mad rush for his songs by Nigerians after his attack on Wizkid and some other Nigerian artistes.
According to the acclaimed Dancehall king, it openly exposes the support they (Nigerians) have mounted for him against the ‘come closer’ hit-maker.
It’s been barely a fortnight since Shatta Wale stirred a controversy between the two countries’ Music Industry when he claimed he does not see Wizkid as a superstar.
He later fired a warning shot to warn him and other artistes like Patoranking and Timaya not to ever step foot in Ghana, an action for which he was seriously chastised.
However, according to the artiste, he believes the brawl with Nigerians served as an advantage for him to penetrate into their music industry.
Speaking in an interview with host Andy Dosty of Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the ‘Taking Over’ singer said ”Nigerians are now calling me. Now, I see Nigerians commenting on my songs. I am getting positive feedback. I am not saying that is the best way but that is my best way…”
When asked if he has been worried about the tonnes of negativity spread about him, he said ‘That is how I do it. Someone sees it’s disgrace but that is my grace”.
He reiterated the fact that he has no beef with Wizkid but the negative feedback has made him learn most Ghanaians are unpatriotic.
“I didn’t say anything to Wizkid, I was elaborating on facts and it got me there. Those against me are not Ghanaians because they don’t support their own. I can give them all they want all the time. We don’t have love in the country. You don’t have to be always humble in showbiz…” he explained.
