Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr popularly known as Shatta Wale has unmasked the reason behind his latest song christened ‘ Freedom’ which has garnered a huge airplay over the past days.
Many people, both fans and critics have come out to judge the song produced by Willis Beatz as ”not making sense” from the few words uttered by the musician. In the song, the controversial Dancehall artiste could be head saying ”Freedom” and ”My name is Shatta Wale” which makes the song relatively incomprehensible.
However, during a chat with Jerry Justice on Adom FM in Accra on Friday, Shatta Wale confessed that he recorded the song because Patapaa was making waves with his ‘One Corner’. Shatta Wale also revealed that he initially had plans of giving the song out to the ‘One Corner’ one-time hit-maker but changed his plans later because Patapaa had worried him in 2017 with his song.
“Let me confess today. Patapaa worried me a lot so he made me record the freedom song. I wanted to give the song to him but I changed my plan later. I’m saying this and God knows that I am not lying. That is how smart I am.
”Patapaa’s One corner got me asking why God didn’t bring the hit song to Accra but took it to Swedru. Tell Patapaa I love him so much.” he told the host.
