Following a worldwide appreciation, many are those who have come to criticize Patapa’s One Corner song saying it has lost its relevance in the music industry.
However, Speaking to Sammy Forson in an interview on Accra-based Zylofon FM , Patapaa Amisty indicated that his hit song is still big and making headlines in Ghana. He indicated that Ghanaians were going to use the song to celebrate this year’s Christmas since it still exists as a big song and among the favorite songs of many Ghanaians. Patapaa also revealed that he had produced some other songs to complement the “One Corner” song and that they would keep him and his brand relevant in the entertainment industry. Speaking about his “One Corner” video, the musician revealed that the bill for the video was paid in full by CEO of EIB Network, Bola Ray. He was full of thanks for the businessman and his kind gesture to foot the bill.
Patapaa whose song has received both positive and negative criticisms from the public has also assured Ghanaians that he has a lot coming up for them. He indicated as well that he has been billed to perform at a number of events this December in Accra and Takoradi; a proof that his music career was booming. Patapaa’s “One Corner” became an instant sensation and was made popular by Ghanaians on social media. The song was accompanied by a vigorous dance which saw many people record their own performances and shared them online. Many celebrities including Abeiku Aggrey Santana, Yaw Dabo, Don Jazzy, Davido, Moesha Boduong, Emelia Brobbey and a host of others were all caught up in the “One Corner” dance craze.
