”Stop Playing Shatta Wale And Sarkodie’s Songs”- Koo Ntakra Begs Media Houses For Promotion

Koo Ntakra, a fast-rising Ghanaian rapper has pleaded with media houses and Disc Jockeys to concentrate on promoting the upcoming musicians rather than concentrating purely on the established ones.

He argued that the upcoming arts have thoughtful and meaningful lyrics while their established counterparts mostly just make noise. The young arts, he said will be responsible for the entertainment industry in the future when the likes of Sarkodie and the rest are no-more.

“Stop playing songs from Sarkodie and Shatta Wale and play songs by upcoming artiste. We the upcoming will take over if the likes of Sarkodie and Shatta Wale retire or are no more so of what use will it be if we are not receiving the necessary support,” he quizzed.

Born as Isaac Akuffo, Koo Ntakra who has carve a niche for himself so far in the Ghanaian entertainment industry especially the rap arts, suggested to Eddy Blay, the host of eTV’s ‘The Late Night Celebrity Show’ that a law could be passed to ensure this because most of the upcoming arts struggle to promote their music.

“A law should be passed to help the upcoming artiste because before winning MTN hit maker 2, one coca cola was all I got when I performed at weddings or parties,” he said.

Koo Ntakra won the second edition of MTN hitmaker and has since been associated with some of the top arts in Ghana including Yaa Pono, Sarkodie, Medikal and Kuami Eugene among others.
